GREAT NEWS!!!!

March 8, 2010

Hey Everyone,

Dad just talked with Dr. Vasireddy and the scans showed no cancer anywhere! Praise the Lord! Thank you for all the prayers and support through this long process. I am glad that we are finally behind all of this. Hallelujah! God is good.

It’s Finally Here!

December 28, 2009

Well, it’s been a while since I posted here…Sorry about that. I am happy to report that dad went in for the 12th and FINAL chemo treatment today! Hallelujah. Despite everything time seems to have flown by. The doctors told dad that he is one of only a few people that stayed strong enough to never skip a treatment week. This is such a blessing. The pump will be taken off on Wednesday for the last time. He will have a followup scan in February so I will keep the blog open until at least then so you can keep in touch. Thank you so much for the prayers, cards, calls, food, etc. that have meant so much to us over the past several months. We will never be able to express how much you mean to us. I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and I want to wish you a prosperous and Happy New Year!

Thank you,

-Daniel

Treatment 7

October 19, 2009

Dad had a good day today and he is well into his 7th treatment of 12 total. Only 5 left to go!!! :) Hallelujah. Dad met with Dr. Vasireddy today and he said that Dad’s treatments were going well and he should finish up as scheduled. Please keep praying for all of us.

Update on Paige: She does not have the flu. I took a sample from her to St. Jude and it came back as Flu negative. She just had the common cold.

Update on Cindi: She did have pleurisy but her doctor in Memphis said that he wanted to do an MRI to make sure she did not have a blood clot anywhere and the MRI did not show a blood clot. They also did a blood test which showed that she either had a blood clot or one was forming. So we are not sure what is going on there, so keep praying for her.

Thank you for all the prayers!

Half-Way 6/12

October 5, 2009

I know it’s been forever since I blogged anything and for that I apologize. Today dad received his 6th chemotherapy treatment. He is doing well, but is starting to stay tired more often. Sorry for the long delay between posts, but my job has been really hectic lately (it’s definetly flu season, and we at St. Jude are busier than ever). I will try from now on to keep up with the blog better than I have been. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

Love,
-Daniel

Round 2…DONE!

August 12, 2009

Hello everyone,

Dad is finished with his second round of chemo (only 10 left to go! :) ). He has had no problems this time. God has kept him feeling well and he is excited about preaching Psalms tonight. If you are in the Counce area today, please don’t miss church tonight! He has had this one ready for 2 weeks now and I know he will be fired up about it. Thanks for all the prayers, cards, e-mails, and post replies. You are such a wonderful support structure for us. I am here at St. Jude enjoying my 3rd day of full-time status (and all the perks and responsibilities that come with it). I look forward to being back at Pickwick on Friday. Have a great day!

Round 2 in progress

August 10, 2009

Hey everyone!

Dad is hooked up to the pump and is already well into round 2 of his chemotherapy. He tried some different medicine this time and we are praying that it will keep his nausea under control better than the last one. He is feeling great so far and we are about to have dinner. He is planning on being at FBC Wednesday night to deliver Psalms (so if you haven’t finished up reading Psalms, hurry up! :) ). Dad’s sermons are all up-to-date on the website (http://www.firstbaptistcounce.com/Podcast.xml) if you want to listen to any of them. I hope you are having a wonderful Monday.

Thank you all,

-Daniel

A Brand New Day!

July 31, 2009

Good morning,

My exam went perfectly fine yesterday. The doctor found no problems in the esophagus or colon (PTL!) He prescribed me a medicine to widen my esophagus. Dad is feeling much better. He ate “semi-normally” yesterday and he never threw up, but he did feel nauseous off and on for a while. Today, he has not felt nauseous at all yet. Thank you for the prayers…I KNOW they helped! :)

A Rough Day

July 29, 2009

As most of you already know, dad had a rough day today. The chemotherapy effect really set in. He is tired and queasy. He has tried to throw up several times but can’t since he hasn’t eaten anything. Please keep praying that over time the effect will lessen. Tomorrow I have an endoscopy to fix a constriction in my esophagus and the Dr. wanted to do a colonoscopy at the same time given our family history. So pray that all goes well with me tomorrow. Thanks for keeping us “prayed up”! :)

Round 1…DONE!

July 27, 2009

Hello everyone,

Dad was in the doctor’s office from 12:00 – 4:30 today. He got his first dose of chemo in clinic and his first pump dose that he will wear until Wednesday. So far, everything is going fine, he is tolerating the chemo well and has no side-effects. Cindi has cooked us all dinner tonight and we just got done feasting. We pray that Dad will continue to feel so good throughout the chemo process. Thank you to all of you who are still faithfully praying for us. I will keep updating the blog as often as I can.

At Home, Resting

July 20, 2009

Hey! We are all back home and dad is resting up. He is getting ready to eat tomato soup for dinner. The doctor said he could eat whatever he felt like, and he wanted soup…So what did he get??? SOUP!! :)
